• Wednesday:

  • Arrival: Guests fly in on the scheduled REX Aviation service from Brisbane, landing at Thargomindah Airport at 12pm.

  • Self-drive guests should check into prebooked accommodation by 5pm.

  • Evening: Enjoy a welcome dinner and settle into your Thargomindah accommodation (included).

• Thursday:

  • Early start: Depart Thargomindah (departure time tailored to season, typically 6:30am).

  • Highlight: Visit Lakes Numulla (freshwater) and Lake Wyara (saltwater, RAMSAR site) for morning birdwatching at these internationally significant wetlands.

  • Travel: Continue to Hungerford, checking into the historic Royal Mail Hotel.

  • Afternoon: Stroll along the Paroo River for late afternoon birdwatching and outback ambience.

• Friday:

  • Morning: Return to Lake Numulla and Lake Wyara for further exploration and bird sightings.

  • Midday: Morning tea and lunch at scenic sites.

  • Afternoon: Discover Currawinya National Park’s historic pastoral locations before returning to the Royal Mail Hotel, Hungerford.

• Saturday:

  • Morning: Another sunrise birding session at Lake Wyara (RAMSAR site).

  • Midday: Morning tea and lunch provided.

  • Afternoon: Tour historic and culturally significant sites in Currawinya National Park.

  • Evening: Return to Royal Mail Hotel for your final outback night.

• Sunday:

  • Departure: After breakfast, journey back to Thargomindah for midday departure (aligned with outgoing flights).
